Depending on the type of notepad one wants to print there are several different ways of looking at how to print them.
Standard sizes for notepads are 4 x 6, 8.5 x 5.5, 8.5 x 11, 4 1/4 x 5.5 and when looking at printing notepads there are 2 standards in terms of sheets per pad, 25 and 50. Backer-boards are also standards on notepads so that there is a solid cardboard back, and being glued at the top so all of the sheets are attached. Although these are standards, when you are designing your own notepad however, you do not need to stick to these standards. The standard means though that these are typically the most cost effective way of printing them.
Most people also struggle when it come to putting colour on their notepad. If you are doing a small quantity, they are most often being run digitally and sometimes whether you run it 4/0 or 4/4 (full colour single or double sided) or with one to two colours single or double sided does not make a difference, however more often then not, especially with small quantities it is more cost effective to run them with a single colour.
When doing so, the artwork should be set up properly. So if you are using a single pantone colour, the artwork should be completely set up in it. If it is easier to set the job up in black and white, keep in mind if you want different shades of this single colour on your notepad, the shading has to show in the black and white artwork. Always when setting up the artwork, don’t forget your crops and bleed marks! Check out the most recent pad we’ve created by clicking on the direct link right here. Curling Pad
